Fork & Fables ("we", "us") publishes restaurant reviews, a journal, and recipes at this site. This page explains what information we collect when you visit or subscribe, and how we use it.
What we collect
- Email address, only if you subscribe using the form on this site. We use it solely to send you new reviews, journal entries, and recipes.
- Usage data — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type — via Google Analytics, but only if you accept analytics cookies in the banner shown on your first visit. See our Cookie Policy for details.
- Account and session data for staff logging into the site's admin or field tools — this isn't collected from the public.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
How we use it
Subscriber emails are used only to send you the content you signed up for. Analytics data (when you've consented to it) helps us understand which pages are useful and fix what isn't. We don't use either for advertising or share them with advertisers.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of service providers to run this site, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:
- Supabase (database hosting)
- Google Cloud (application hosting, file storage)
- Google Analytics (site usage analytics, only with your consent)
How long we keep it
Subscriber emails are kept until you unsubscribe — every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from future sends immediately. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' own retention settings.
Your rights
Wherever you're located, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to tell you what we have. If you're in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, this includes the right to data portability and to object to processing; if you're a California resident, you have the right to know what's collected and to request deletion, and — as stated above — we don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of on that front. Children
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
