Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. Here's what this one uses.
Essential cookies — always on
These keep the site working and can't be switched off. We only set them for staff logged into the admin or field tools, not for ordinary visitors browsing the guide.
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
sessionid | Keeps a staff member logged in | 2 weeks |
csrftoken | Protects forms from cross-site attacks | 1 year |
Analytics cookies — only with your consent
If you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit, we load Google Analytics, which sets cookies to tell pages visited, device/browser type, and approximate location apart across visits. If you decline, or don't respond, these are never set.
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes visitors | 2 years |
_ga_<container-id> | Persists session state | 2 years |
Changing your mind
Clear this site's cookies and local storage in your browser settings to see the consent banner again and choose differently. You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's browser add-on.
See our Privacy Policy for how any data collected is used.
